"Can I work in with you?" means that you are on the machine that they want to use and they would like to alternate sets with you on that piece of equipment. OR you are taking waaaay too long and it's their way of hurrying you up.
"How many sets do you have left?" is a nice way of asking how much longer you will be on that piece of equipment.
"Do you need a spot?" means that they would like to help you to lift the weight safely. OR they don't think you can do it on your own.
"He's on the juice!" is referring to the BIG , muscle-head guy lifting BIG weights. The person making the comment is either jealous, or they know for a fact that the BIG guy is taking illegal steroids. Hint.... if that's the case, they usually have zits all over their upper body.
"Nice pipes." is a compliment....means "nice biceps".
"I'm pumped." refers to the feeling you get after doing a set and your muscles feel "BIG". OR they're really ticked at someone.
"What are you working?" is asking what body part(s) you are currently training.
"Feel it." or "Feel the burn." means to really focus & feel the muscle you are working.
"It's all you." is a comment made when someone is spotting you letting you know that they are barely helping you....it's usually a lie.
"What's your max?" is asking how much weight you can lift for ONE repetition.
"Nice cuts!" is another compliment..."you have nice definition".
"Yes, I slept with her, but it didn't mean a thing. Of course, I still love you!" overheard in the locker room from a 20-something year old male talking on his cell phone.
"I'm going home to cry to my mother, they lift more than me!" overheard from a guy after watching a few of us girls bench press.
"I'm starting to get these." overheard from one female member to another as she was pointing to her triceps.
